Vesper Entry: Malum

First art work of the year!

This is for contest based on her amazing comic 'Pull Down Heaven'.

Species: Tiger

Personality: Malum is a fearsome beast and should be avoided completely. She will kill on sight, and her enhance strength makes her more than force to be reckon with. Fortunately she is unable spread the virus, not that is matters since those she encounters are killed on sight.

History: During the time when Vesper was in human control, there was a laboratory that studied the rabies virus and tried to mutate to enhance animal aggression that can be used for warfare. It would enhance the animals strength and lifespan. It is noted that the only animal of spreading this neo-rabies to others are affected rats, but even with that there is only a 12% successful chance of another animal getting it. Eventually they were closed down due to concerns, so the humans left the affected rats in their cages to slowly wither away.

One day Kala entered the abandon laboratory and happened upon a caged rat. Curious, Kala went to get a closer look and the rat promptly bit her. She returned to her small family group and as the days went by she started to become more delirious. Her eyes became bloodshot and she slaughtered her family. Rumors were spreading around Vesper that a tiger with "bloody" strips would slaughter anyone in her sights. Her real name almost forgotten, she soon became known as Malum. The Bogeyman of Vesper. It is believed her blood red strips are from the victims she has killed. Years passed and animals would tell their offspring's to behave themselves or Malum would come and get them. Fortunately, Malum remains in one of the more remote parts of Vesper. It is said that if one catches Malum sitting in a pensive silence, they can see a little of what was once Kala; pleading to no-one for her suffering to end. But once that silence is broken, Malum will come through and kill. For she is the bogeyman.
